High Atlas Mountains Trek & Mount Toubkal Ascent – 8 Days

Today you will leave the camp and start the walk up to Ighoulidene waterfalls at 2500m and on uphill through the gorges along the pretty stream to enjoy some of the impressive views of the valley and the far plains in the horizon.Continue on nice path to Tizekert pass at 2700m.

Picnic lunch by the goat pens before you start the walk up to your set up camp for dinner and overnight.

Another interesting day that starts with a gradual climb to Aguelzim pass (3600m) that offers some of the best views of the deep valleys around and the scattered Berber villages. You will continue descending Neltner refuge (3200m) where your camp will be set up for lunch by the stream I Ouaoughant high lands.

The remainder of the day to relax and enjoy the dramatic landscape of the high atlas.

An early wake up for breakfast and walk above the refuge to join the path in the bigravine.

Then you climb gradually up to the pass of Toubkal (4000m) and from there you walk below the ridge to the peak of Toubkal (4167m), the highest in north Africa.

Stop for a little snack on the top before you head down the same route to the campsite for a deserved hot meal.

After your breakfast, walk down along the stream to the remote village of Armed (2000m) afterwards, passing through sidi Chamharouch at 2300 m a popular pilgrimage destination especially in summer times.

You will stop to explore the spiritual value of the place before you carry on descending to Armed village at 2000 M.

Dinner and overnight in Local guest house.

Today, you will walk down the village to Imlil and cross the river and following the footpath to Agersioual pass 2100m where you will have a panoramic view of Ait Mizane valley and Toubkal peak .

Then you will carry on down to Ikhiss where you will stop for lunch by the stream.

After lunch you will follow the river and head to Imsker village at 1500m.

This morning, you will head south following Imnane River to Ikhis at the elevation of 1700m.

You will be gradually walking up the valley to Iklhiss for picnic lunch.

In the afternoon, you will follow the route along the river to Tamguist and Ouaneskra villages before you get to Tacheddirt at the elevation of 2200m.

Dinner and overnight in a gite.

This morning, we will set out for another walking journey, climbing a zigzag path through the high mounntain to Ouattar pass (3100m) .

A spot offering stunning views of the atlas peaks .

Then we will head downhill to Tiferguine at 2600m for picnic by the spring.

Afternoon, we walk on the flat bit to the ski resort of Oukaimeden where we meet our driver and drive a downhill road to Ourika valley and then to Marrakech.
