TOUBKAL ASCENT – 5 DAYS

Depart from Armed and follow the trail to the Mzik Pass (2500 meters), where you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes.

Enjoy a picnic lunch after crossing the pass. Continue your trek through a beautiful juniper forest, ultimately reaching your camp at Azib Tamsoult (2300 meters).

Today’s trek takes you along a zigzagging path to the stunning Ighoulidene Waterfalls, then onwards to the Tazaghart Refuge (3000 meters).

From here, continue ascending to the Aguelzim Pass (3700 meters), where you will be rewarded with awe-inspiring views of the Atlas Mountains. After a picnic lunch at the pass, descend towards your camp near the Refuge (3200 meters), where you will spend the night.

Overnight at the camp near the Refuge

Wake up early for breakfast before scaling the prominent mountain above the refuge. Walk the rocky trails in the valley, gaining significant altitude until you reach the pass at 4000 meters. Take a break to enjoy breathtaking views from this vantage point. Continue along the ridge to Toubkal Peak (4167 meters), the highest summit in North Africa.

Admire the stunning vistas of the Atlas Mountains, surrounding deep valleys, and remote Sahara Desert landscapes.

After a snack at the summit, descend back to the refuge for a rewarding lunch. In the afternoon, hike down the valley to Armed village. Enjoy dinner and overnight accommodation at the auberge.

After breakfast, walk to the Tidli springs and then climb to Ouaoughfrast Hill (2100 meters), offering panoramic views of the surrounding valley and its numerous villages.

Proceed at a steady pace to negotiate the Tamatert Pass (2300 meters).

Continue downhill to the charming village of Tinoughrine (1700 meters), then to Ikhiss village for lunch by the river.

In the afternoon, gently ascend Aguersioual Pass (2100 meters) for great views.

Descend to the village where you will meet your driver for the transfer through Asni to Marrakech.
